The initial seafood market started on a very small scale -- only being open three days a week and providing a limited seafood variety. Based on customer demand and requests Middletown Seafood expanded its operations to provide customers seafood on a six day a week schedule in a new location.
Now in the Middletown Historic district, in one of the most historic buildings in town, the old Witherspoon Tavern. In 2008 Scott Lawrence, a long time Delaware resident, took over the company to help continue the growth and move the business forward with fresh and creative ideas. The expanded business allows for daily shipments of fresh seafood and allowed Middletown Seafood to expand its current customer base. In 2010, Sully's Irish Pub opened and provided a restaurant venue to showcase the menu. Currently, Chef Matt Gibb creates nightly specials for a full dining experience and compliments the time tested seafood dishes.
Middletown Seafood uses the vast resources of the Chesapeake, Atlantic seaboard and Gulf of Mexico to harvest the freshest seafood products that are available 12 months a year. We offer clams, oysters, crabs, lobster, shrimp and all types of local fish. In addition, we are able to obtain a large variety of specialty seafood, including live crawfish, organic salmon from Scotland, Dover sole from the English Channel, Chilean sea bas and orange roughy from New Zealand.
